week 6 "pop" quiz

 both quizzes: open notes

Week 6 'pop' quiz
1. "____________ s constitute the largest group of psalms" (Fee and Stuart, p. 220)

2.Philemon verse 16 clearly says Onesimus was a slave .  T__ F__

3. Correct anything that would be counted as an error (mechanical or content)  in signature paper:

My thesis is this: "God wants Philemon to forgive his runaway slave, and to learn to be a healthy leader".

Herod was an evil King, a Leader that could seemingly due no good.  The 3 Emperors and Priests we talked about from Jesus's day were also corrupt.  Jesus was firm in His rebuke of any one that misused authority.  I literally fumed  with anger when I kept reading bible stories  and modern stories about Pastors and Rulers that were abusive.  It's embarrasing to the Church I attend.

Even in Onesimus's case, I seen a few examples where maybe he was mistreated by his Master.
I can't imagine why a slave's owner would beat a fellow human being that is made in Gods image.
When you look deeply at the text it seems Jesus in his righteous anger would be outraged.  I wonder what Philemons' wife Apphia thought.
